About the Course – Business Events and Generic Inquiries

Your ERP should not just record what has happened, it should respond, anticipate and act. In this three-hour, hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use Business Events and Generic Inquiries together to automate processes. Business Events monitors changes in Generic Inquiries and triggers automations across your system that improve efficiency, consistency, and operational speed.

We will start with a short refresher on why event-driven automation matters, positioning Business Events as a practical foundation for operational efficiency and future AI capability in MYOB Acumatica. From there, you will build real-world scenarios that automate monitoring, trigger timely notifications and enforce policy without manual intervention.

After a short break, we will focus on invoice-driven automation, creating and customising Generic Inquiries to identify upcoming and overdue invoices. You will then configure internal alerts and customer email notifications to improve visibility, communication and follow-up.

We will progress to more advanced patterns, including automatically placing customers on hold based on overdue criteria, ensuring business rules are applied consistently and at the right time. We will wrap up with a Business Events governance checklist, covering scheduling, performance considerations and safe deployment practices, before briefly connecting these capabilities to the MYOB Acumatica roadmap.
