Understanding MYOB Acumatica’s Modern UI
MYOB Acumatica Tips and Tricks #2MYOB Acumatica continues to evolve to meet the expectations of larger, more complex organisations. Although known for its usability and user-friendly interface, the 2025 R2 release of MYOB Acumatica includes one of the most significant changes in recent years – the introduction of the Modern User Interface (Modern UI). The previous update to MYOB Acumatica’s UI was in 2019.
This will impact how users interact with MYOB Acumatica, how efficiently they can work, and how the system can adapt to future requirements.
Why MYOB Acumatica Needs the Modern UI
MYOB Acumatica is being continually developed and upgraded to better meet the evolving needs of larger, more complex organisations across Australia and New Zealand. The UI and usability of MYOB Acumatica is just as critical to its long-term suitability as its core functionality.
Furthermore, the opportunity to improve the UI was also an opportunity for Acumatica developers to remove dependencies on legacy ASPX UI architecture, and refocus the platform to HTML, TypeScript, and modern web services. This creates a sustainable foundation for ongoing innovation and supportability, while also improving performance and processing speed. The Modern UI reduces page reloads, especially on complex screens or when working with large data sets.
Key Improvements in the Modern UI
The Modern UI will change and improve the way you interact with MYOB Acumatica in your day-to-day workflows. It is important to understand the specific areas that will be different after you upgrade. The Modern UI upgrade is a sweeping change across the entire platform.
Changes in UI Elements
- Screen layouts will be more responsive across different screen sizes and devices, a significant improvement for mobile and tablet usability.
- Screen layouts are generally cleaner and easier to navigate. Related fields are grouped together in a more streamlined, visually friendly way.

Tips for using the Modern UI:
- Hide never-used columns to avoid clutter.
- Click and drag columns and tabs to reorder them to fit your workflow
Modern Dashboards and Data Analysis

How to upgrade to MYOB Acumatica 2025 R2
MYOB Acumatica 2025 R2 is a major release, and you will upgrade to this version (or the latest eligible major release) during your next scheduled upgrade window. The classic UI is planned for removal in the 2026 R2 upgrade. It is far better to plan ahead, upgrade, and take advantage of the benefits of the Modern UI before the pressure to upgrade to 2026 R2 builds. For information about when you are scheduled to upgrade, please contact our friendly upgrades team by emailing acumatica.upgrades@kilimanjaro-consulting.com or calling 1300 857 464 (AU) or 0800 436 774 (NZ).
Modern UI is a platform change that improves performance and usability. These changes also futureproof your system on modern cloud-based architecture and prepare for the continued introduction of new technology. Data, business logic, and workflows will remain unchanged as you upgrade to the Modern UI. The upgrade will not change your core ERP processes, but it does require planning for customisations.
Our team can make adjustments when requested to maintain the effectiveness of your existing customisations. You will have the opportunity to test everything in a sandbox before the final migration is applied. The Modern UI may supersede existing customisations in your site, which can reduce maintenance in future upgrades.
